Makes Stainless Steel Reinforced Hose Easier to Handle
 Southampton, PA — Now available from AdvantaPure, the sanitary products division of NewAge® Industries, Inc., is Silicone Jacketed Hose. A cover of pure silicone encases stainless steel overbraided PTFE hose to protect personnel from high temperatures during handling. At the same time, it keeps the outer surface clean and smooth. Silicone Jacketed Hose is well suited to applications involving the pharmaceutical industry, biomedical and biotechnology, foods and beverages, cosmetics, and other clean uses.
Silicone Jacketed Hose was developed to solve two problems: high-temperature handling and cleanliness. Because the stainless steel overbraiding retains and transfers heat, it can be difficult to handle at maintenance times and during other hose transfer situations. The silicone resists heat transfer, protecting technicians and workers from burns at times of hose handling.
Another situation experienced by non-jacketed stainless steel overbraided hose is particle entrapment. In the sanitary industries where stainless steel overbraided hose is often used, cleanliness is an important issue. The makeup of braided stainless steel provides an uneven surface in which particulate and liquids can become trapped, leaving unsanitary conditions. The smooth silicone jacket prevents this hazard, as it covers the braiding completely.
AdvantaPure’s Silicone Jacketed Hose, with a core of PTFE fluoropolymer, offers a smooth interior for unrestricted flow. The pure inner material provides a non-stick surface and offers a temperature range from –275°F to 500° (-171°C to 260°C). Stainless steel overbraiding increases the product’s pressure capabilities and helps with its ability to bend without kinking. These properties, combined with the silicone cover, make Silicone Jacketed Hose an excellent option for sanitary applications, especially those involving high temperatures.
